Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
In America we have been blessed to have freedom to raise our children in the faith of Jesus Christ. Sadly however, I believe it is only a matter of time before we will be one of the many countries living in persecution and suffering for our faith. If you gauge most of America’s moral compass in light of God’s Word you can easily see where we are headed.
With this being said, are we deliberately raising our children to stand firm in the faith? Are we training them to flee from sin and hold firm to Christ? Are we leading lives that can give them an example of love, courage, and loyalty to our King? Are we teaching them to love Jesus Christ more than any person in their lives? If they love people more than Christ than they will easily compromise their faith to please others or themselves. Christ needs to be loved and honored above all. Armed with that love, and obedience to His Word, they can love others without falling prey to the world’s viewpoint and standards.
For all of us raising children, may our number one priority be to raise them to stand courageously firm in the love and truth of our only Savior Jesus Christ.
